Better Resupply - Minecraft 1.21

Better Resupply

Better Resupply is an essential quality-of-life overhaul for colony management in Minecraft. It completely reworks the resupply ship interface by adding two major pillars: Cargo Overview and Passenger Management. Now you can see at a glance exactly how long your colony's supplies will last, identify critical shortages before they become emergencies, and manage applicant selections with unprecedented clarity. Whether you're running a massive industrial colony or a small survival outpost, this mod gives you the tools to stay organized and efficient.

Applicant Intelligence

Interest and demographics summary, persistent selection, and clickable trait filters for advanced recruitment.

Proactive Alerts

Color-coded warnings (Red <5 sols / Yellow <10 sols / Green safe) ensure you never run out of critical items.

Cargo Management System

The mod adds a brand new column to your resupply interface that shows exactly how much of each resource, rover, or prefab your colony currently possesses. Each resource entry is intelligently color-coded based on how long the current supply plus incoming shipment will last:

  • White/Green — Infinite supply (production ≥ consumption + maintenance)
  • Red — Less than 5 sols remaining (critical shortage!)
  • Yellow — Less than 10 sols remaining (warning zone)
  • Green — 10+ sols or stable production

Hover over any resource to view a detailed tooltip that includes current consumption rate, maintenance costs, net change per sol, and the exact number of sols until stockpiles are exhausted. This data-driven approach transforms colony planning from guesswork into a precise science.

Passenger & Applicant Overhaul

The left panel of the resupply interface now features a comprehensive Interests and Demographics summary for selected applicants. You can instantly see each applicant's profession preferences, skill distribution, and personality traits. This makes recruitment faster and more strategic.

Quality-of-Life Improvements:

  • Persistent Selection: Applicant selections are no longer cleared when you navigate back to the filter screen. Your chosen applicants remain selected — no more repetitive clicking!
  • Clickable Filter Criteria: Each individual filter criterion (e.g., “Miner”, “Doctor”, “Builder”) can now be clicked. This shows you all applicants who match that specific trait while using the rest of your current filter criteria for sorting.
  • Smart Sorting: When you click on a trait, the mod displays all applicants with that positive trait, sorting them by your remaining criteria. Note: Thumbs-down on other criteria won't prevent them from appearing in this focused view — giving you full visibility without over-filtering.

Advanced Filtering: How Clickable Criteria Works

In the standard applicant list, each filter chip (e.g., "Miner", "Celebrity", "Athlete", "Engineer") becomes interactive. By clicking on any trait, the mod dynamically rebuilds the applicant list to show everyone who has that trait, but sorts them according to your remaining filter preferences. This means you can explore "all possible Doctors" while still prioritizing high Creativity or low Stress. The thumbs-down on other criteria is temporarily ignored in this "drill-down" view — giving you the full picture for that specific interest. It's perfect for when you know you need a skilled Farmer but want to review all candidates with that trait, even if some of them have minor negative tags.

Pro Tip: Use this to quickly compare all applicants with the same primary skill. Then reapply your full filter set with one click to return to refined search.

Better Resupply seamlessly integrates into the existing colony UI without adding clutter — it enhances what's already there. The cargo column sits elegantly beside the standard resupply list, and the applicant panel's left-side summary provides demographic breakdowns at a glance. For server admins and single-player colony builders alike, this mod reduces micromanagement fatigue. You'll no longer need to manually calculate consumption rates or guess when a resource shortage will hit. The color coding acts as an early warning system: Red means act now, Yellow means plan ahead, and Green means you're safe. And the persistent applicant selection ensures you never lose track of your preferred colonists just because you adjusted a filter slider.
