๐ Quickstart
- Craft a Display Shelf using sticks and spruce planks (see recipe below).
- Place it on a wall, floor, or any surface like a normal block.
- Right-click the shelf while holding an item to place that item on display.
- Sneak + right-click (or simply right-click an occupied shelf) to take the item back.
planks
The shelf is a wooden block, so break it with an axe to retrieve it cleanly.
๐ Placing or removing an item plays a sound, similar to using an item frame.
๐ง If the shelf is destroyed while holding an item, the displayed item drops on the ground โ nothing is lost.
๐ Overview
Display Shelf adds a slim wooden shelf block that lets you showcase a single item in full 3D. Instead of hiding items in chests or shulker boxes, put them out where everyone can see them โ perfect for showing off rare finds, decorating builds, or setting up item galleries.
๐ชต What It Adds
- Display Shelf โ a thin wooden block that holds and shows one item at a time, tilted and rendered in 3D on top of the shelf.
- Visual clarity โ items are rotated slightly for visibility from most angles.
- Synced โ works reliably in multiplayer; displayed items are visible to all players.
๐ฑ๏ธ How To Use
- Placing an item: Right-click an empty shelf with any item in your hand. One copy is placed on the shelf and consumed (unless in Creative mode).
- Removing an item: Sneak-right-click an occupied shelf to take the item back. Right-clicking without sneaking also removes the item.
- Feedback: Placing or removing plays a sound; if you interact without sneaking, a message reminds you to sneak-right-click.
๐จ Abilities & Mechanics
- Each shelf holds exactly one item at a time, displayed at a slight tilt.
- The displayed item is purely visual โ it's not consumed or altered, just held in place.
- Works with any item in the game โ build custom displays, museums, or trophy walls.
- Items remain on the shelf when the chunk reloads or the server restarts.
๐๏ธ Progression & Strategy
- No crafting tree or upgrade path โ it's a simple decorative and organizational tool.
- Highlight rare loot, enchanted gear, or unique finds.
- Build item museums, collection rooms, or shops.
- Add detail to shelves, display cases, and interior builds.
๐ ๏ธ Technical & Installation

- Multiplayer ready โ item displays are synced to all players.
- Lightweight โ no performance impact; uses vanilla rendering.
- Configurable via
/config/display-shelf/(future updates).
