The Waystones Mod revolutionizes travel in Minecraft by adding mystical waystone blocks that players can return to after activation. Whether you're exploring vast caves, building distant outposts, or simply want to avoid tedious walking, Waystones provide elegant teleportation mechanics. Use a Warp Scroll, a rechargeable Warp Stone, or travel directly between activated waystones. This system works seamlessly in Survival Mode, custom Adventure Maps, and Multiplayer Servers, offering a balanced alternative to traditional /warp and /home commands.
The core of the mod. Craftable, placeable, and shareable. Global waystones can be set for community hubs.
Single-use teleportation item that brings you to the nearest activated waystone or selected destination.
A pressure plate variant that teleports any entity stepping on it to a bound waystone — great for traps or shortcuts.
Craftable Waystones & Global Sharing
The Waystone block is fully craftable using ender pearls, obsidian, and stone bricks. Once placed and activated (by right-clicking), it gets added to your personal network. For multiplayer servers or shared worlds, you can mark waystones as Global — allowing every player on the server to teleport to them. This is perfect for creating spawn hubs, community shopping districts, or team bases. Global waystones appear with a distinct name color and can only be managed by operators or the player who set them.
Warp Scrolls & Rechargeable Warp Stone
The Warp Scroll is a single-use item that teleports you to the closest activated waystone or opens a selection menu. For frequent travelers, the Warp Stone offers a rechargeable alternative: it holds a limited number of charges (configurable) that can be replenished at any waystone by shift+right-clicking. Warp Scrolls can be found in village chests, dungeons, or crafted using paper, ender pearls, and a waystone shard. These items add a layer of resource balancing, making teleportation feel earned and integrated into progression.
Warp Plates & Inventory Button
The Warp Plate works like a pressure plate but activates teleportation to a linked waystone. Place one at your base entrance for instant return from anywhere, or create puzzle maps where stepping on a hidden plate sends players across dimensions. Additionally, the mod provides a configurable Inventory Button that appears near your player model icon. Clicking this button opens the waystone selection GUI, allowing warping without needing any items — perfect for creative mode or servers that prefer convenience. This feature can be toggled on/off in the config file.
Waystones integrate beautifully with vanilla Minecraft. When you discover a village, there's a high chance a waystone will be present near the center (configurable). You can teleport between your personal network of waystones without consuming items, by simply interacting with a waystone and selecting the destination from the GUI. This "waystone-to-waystone" travel costs experience levels (configurable) to maintain balance, encouraging players to still explore while rewarding investment in the mod's infrastructure. For server admins, there are extensive configuration options: you can disable global waystones, adjust teleport costs, limit dimensions, or even whitelist certain players.
Required API & Dependencies
This mod requires Balm to be installed alongside it. Balm is a shared library that provides common utilities and cross-loader compatibility. It ensures smooth performance across NeoForge, Fabric, and Forge environments.
- Balm API (Required) - Core library for Waystones functionality, cross-loader support and config handling.
- No other dependencies needed — the mod is light and optimized for both client and server.
Multiplayer Ready: The mod works fully on dedicated servers. All waystone data is stored per world and synced to clients seamlessly.
Beyond the basics, Waystones mod includes thoughtful details like waystone shards (drop from breaking waystones), the ability to teleport pets or vehicles when using a warp plate, and a "teleport cooldown" for PvP servers. Whether you're a solo builder wanting to link your base, mineshaft, and end portal, or a server owner tired of managing warp commands, the Waystones mod delivers a polished, immersive teleportation system that feels like it belongs in vanilla Minecraft. The optional inventory button and custom keybinds ensure quick access without cluttering your hotbar.
