BuildPaste — Automatic Structure Generator Mod

BuildPaste

BuildPaste is an incredible, automatic structure-generating mod that makes importing complex buildings into your Minecraft world as simple as copy & paste. The mod connects players to a community of shared builds — everything from tiny decorative kits to massive mansions and functional redstone contraptions. Each public build on the service is assigned a unique text code which can be copied from the website and pasted directly into Minecraft's chat input. This workflow is designed to be fast and approachable for players of all skill levels: you don't need to manually place blocks or use complicated import tools — BuildPaste handles the block placement for you automatically.

To use a build, locate it on BuildPaste.net. You can create an account (recommended for easier management) or simply copy the build code without signing in. If you create and connect your account to your Minecraft profile, the mod will allow you to paste using the short command /paste instead of the long code. Account integration also gives you a convenient history of your builds, private uploads, and the ability to save favorites. For players who prefer not to register, copying the full code and pasting it in-game works equally well — the system was built to be low-friction.

Once you’ve copied a build code, jump back into Minecraft and open chat (press T or /). Paste the code and press Enter. Important: make sure you paste while standing on the intended ground level — the build will begin generating immediately at your location and will respect the coordinate plane relative to where you stand. Before pasting, clear space if necessary (trees, water, or other blocks in the target area may interfere with how the structure appears). For very large builds, we recommend creating a flat, open area or using a creative world to preview the structure before deploying it in survival.

The mod includes powerful editing and safety features. The most important is the Quick Actions menu that appears after a build finishes generating. From Quick Actions you can:

  • Undo the entire build if the placement was incorrect or you changed your mind (very helpful for large builds).
  • Replace specific block types across the whole structure (for example, swap all stone slabs for wooden slabs to match your base's palette).
  • Remove specific block types or items from the build (useful for removing unwanted furniture, entities, or spawnable blocks).
The undo process destroys the placed blocks piece-by-piece, so very large builds may take a little time to fully revert — however, this gives you a clear, reversible workflow and prevents accidental world corruption.

A particularly handy feature is the Replace Blocks tool (available within Quick Actions). When you open Replace Blocks you’ll see a list of every block used in the generated structure. Clicking a block type (for example, stone slabs) lets you instantly substitute that block across the entire build with any other block you choose. This makes it extremely fast to adapt community builds to your world's visual theme (stone → polished granite, oak planks → spruce planks, etc.). You can also iterate repeatedly — switch slabs, compare results, and then undo if the change doesn’t fit.

BuildPaste is also great for players who want to learn from other creators. Many community submissions include detailed notes (on the BuildPaste page) describing materials used, intended orientation, and whether the build contains functional redstone or mob-farming mechanics. This makes BuildPaste useful both for decorating and for practical builds — you can import a mob farm design or a redstone elevator and then study the inner workings in your own world. Because builds vary in complexity, check the description on the build page first: smaller decorative builds generate quickly while mega-structures or multi-part redstone contraptions can take longer and may require more server resources when used on multiplayer servers.
